Model's Own Words

The following are words written by the model in this shot. This image is from one of my photographic workshops. These events encourage the photographers and models to be transparent in their communication.I believe that the model's honesty here is even more empowering than her photo. ------Some of the most empowering moments in my life have been standing in front of a lens that captures only truth. I love doing art nude shots but have always felt guilted by society to not offend others with my nudity. The truth is, I am so afraid of judgement that I will listen and act upon that fear instead of acting from my heart and as a result have suffered inner conflict and depression. This experience for me evokes my truest essence of which i wish to live through everyday but find it hard with the constraints of society and often find myself conforming so that i feel accepted. I would like to share my experience as I feel it can only shed light on the dark issues many people have with self acceptance and self expression... I know others have shared this experience but have also feared what might come of expressing themselves creative ways. I feel I develop more self awareness and more connection when I live within the template of integrity and truth... Claire/Empoweress on DA March 2012
